Health Informatics Certificate FAQ
When should I apply for your Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Informatics program?
Applications are open from July 1 of the preceding year through May 15 of the calendar year of desired enrollment. (The application deadline may be extended past May 15 at the discretion of the program.) All undergraduate coursework must be completed with official transcripts on file prior to formal acceptance to the program. Applications are accepted for fall semester admission only.
Do I have to have a baccalaureate degree or work experience in a health or information technology related field?
No, students can apply to the program after completing any baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
Are prerequisite courses required?
No, health informatics is an interdisciplinary field; therefore, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
Are applicants required to take the GRE?
No, the the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is not required for admission to the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Informatics program.
Is the program completely online?
Yes.
Who are the faculty?
The Health Informatics & Information Management (HIIM) faculty (academic and clinical) consists of highly qualified professionals with appropriate credentials. The majority of the faculty members in the program hold terminal degrees in areas related to the profession and have extensive teaching experience. The faculty is well-published and has presented papers, posters, and workshops at the national, regional, and state levels. All faculty members are involved with professional organizations, and the program encourages students to become actively involved, as well.

Applications are available online. All applicants pay a nonrefundable application fee of $25. Further information may be obtained from the Office of Enrollment Management.
